Brockville, Kemptville hospitals receive $4.37M provincial funding boost

The Ontario government is investing more than $4.3 million in Brockville General Hospital and Kemptville District Hospital aimed at supporting day-to-day operations, reducing wait times and helping to meet growing demand for care.
The funding is part of a $1.1-billion investment in Ontario’s hospital sector, representing a four per cent increase in annual hospital funding for the fourth consecutive year, a media release from Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark’s office says.
Brockville General Hospital will receive $3,436,500 for the 2026-27 fiscal year, a 3.2 per cent increase over last year. Kemptville District Hospital will receive $934,500, a four per cent increase.
The province says the funding will help support core clinical services, keep emergency departments operating, address inflationary and wage pressures and reduce wait times for diagnostic imaging and surgical procedures.
“From the day our government took office, hospital funding has been a priority, particularly those like Brockville General and Kemptville District that serve patients in small towns and rural communities,” stated Clark in the media release.
“I’m a proud advocate for our local hospitals and I welcome this continued investment in services for patients and the frontline healthcare workers that deliver them.”
Julie Caffin, president and CEO of Brockville General Hospital, said the additional funding comes at an important time.
“We are grateful to the Ontario government and the Ministry of Health for recognizing the financial strain hospitals are under. This increase to our base funding allows us to continue providing high-quality care for our community. We also extend our sincere thanks to MPP Steve Clark for his continued support, advocacy and commitment to our hospital and the people we serve.”
Frank Vassallo, president and CEO of Kemptville District Hospital, said the investment will help the hospital respond to increasing demand.
“KDH is grateful to our provincial partners, and MPP Steve Clark, for supporting our regional hospital with this vital funding. These funds enable us to deliver safe, high-quality care to our patients, and continue to meet the growing demand for care across all age groups.”
