The Lanark County OPP responded to incidents in Perth, Montague Township and Tay Valley Township over a three-day period, leading to a range of charges including assault, assault causing bodily harm, and probation-related offences.

The first investigation began on Friday, July 3 after police were called to a seasonal property in Tay Valley Township after receiving allegations of intimate partner violence, according to the OPP.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The second incident occurred when officers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in Perth shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5. Police say they located the accused a short distance from the home following the incident, where he was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old man from Perth has been charged with:

A 20-year-old man from Montague Township was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of assault

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
