Carleton Place announces road closures and parking restrictions ahead of Bridge Street Summerfest this weekend

Drivers heading through downtown Carleton Place this weekend will need to plan ahead as a large section of Bridge Street will be closed for one of the community’s biggest summer events.
In a release issued on Monday, July 20, 2026, the Town of Carleton Place announced that Bridge Street will be closed between Mill Street and Lake Avenue from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 to accommodate Bridge Street Summerfest.
As previously reported, the popular annual street festival transforms downtown Carleton Place into a hub of shopping, live entertainment and fun family activities. Running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bridge Street Summerfest will see dozens of local businesses and vendors take over the downtown core with sidewalk sales, food stands, live performers and more.
As the event draws nearer, town officials are reminding motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the event is underway.
In addition to the road closure, parking will not be permitted in the municipal parking lots at 82 Bridge Street and 100 Bridge Street during the 6 a.m to 5 p.m timeframe. The town stated that any residents and visitors who have vehicles remaining on Bridge Street between Mill Street and Lake Avenue or in either municipal parking lot after 6 a.m. will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Residents planning to attend the event are encouraged to arrive early, park outside the designated closure area and explore the festival on foot.
