Carleton Place Porchfest returns next month for an afternoon of homegrown music

Get ready for a summer afternoon filled with music and community spirit, all while supporting the Lanark County Food Bank (The Hunger Stop).
On Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, the annual Carleton Place Porchfest will bring the town to life with an afternoon of free, live music.
For one afternoon only from 1 to 4 p.m, porches, garages, driveways and front lawns throughout Carleton Place will become stages for local musicians to share their talents with neighbours and visitors.
What makes this event unique is there is no formal venue and no need to stick to one location. Participants can simply lace up their sneakers and follow the music as you explore the neighbourhood.
The annual event is about much more than music. For organizers and community members, it’s a chance to celebrate local talent, meet neighbours and explore Carleton Place’s local shops and restaurants. Those who want to show their appreciation for the performers can make a donation to The Hunger Stop, helping support the Lanark County Food Bank in providing meals for local residents in need.
Porchfest is also completely free and 100 per cent community-driven. Musicians of all ages, experience levels and genres are invited to participate and share their love of music, whether they’re ready to play a full set or just a few songs.
Organizers stress that participation is voluntary; however, performers expected to follow applicable Town regulations.
Whether you’re a dedicated music lover or simply looking for a fun way to spend a summer afternoon, Porchfest is an opportunity to discover local talent and enjoy the community in a whole new way.
