Construction season remains in full swing across Carleton Place with crews set to complete several road and infrastructure projects over the coming week. In a release issued on Thursday, July 30, 2026, town officials issued an update for residents and motorists on current or upcoming construction activities anticipated for the beginning of August.

According to town officials, work is continuing on Sarah Street where road reconstruction and concrete replacement are underway between Lake Avenue and Woodward Avenue, as well as between Arthur Street and Morris Street. Roadwork is also ongoing on College Street between Victoria and Bridge streets. There was no anticipated date of completion provided for these projects.

On Napoleon Street, between Wilson and Woodward streets, crews are expected to complete water service connections next week before shifting their focus to road reconstruction the week after.

At the Rosamond Street crossing along the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail (OVRT), roadway removals and reinstatement will continue into next week. The release noted the town is awaiting a new salt shed structure at the Public Works Yard on Franklin Street, which is expected to arrive in early August.

Residents on Frank Street, between Emily Street and the Mississippi River, will have to wait a little longer for the finishing touches on driveway reinstatements as paving has been officially scheduled for Aug. 20.

Town officials noted that landscaping on recently completed streets won’t begin until September, as cooler temperatures will provide better conditions.

Residents and motorists are encouraged to avoid active construction zones whenever possible, watch for workers, obey posted signs and follow directions from flag crews.

Anyone with questions about ongoing projects can contact the town’s Public Works Department at at (613) 257-2253.
