Residents and visitors looking to get outdoors and explore Carleton Place on two wheels this summer can now do so by taking advantage of bicycle rentals available through the town’s Tourism Office and Information Centre.

According to a release issued by the Town of Carleton Place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the rental program provides an affordable way for visitors to get around and discover the community’s shops, waterfront and network of trails.

The town has provided a variety of options for rentals, whether you’re planning for a quick ride through downtown or a full day of sightseeing. Bicycles can be rented for $5 per hour, $10 for four hours or $20 for a full day. All that is needed to rent a bicycle is to provide an address and phone number.

While picking up a bike, visitors can also collect free Lanark County Cycling Maps and the latest edition of Cycling in Ontario magazine to help plan their ride for the day and discover other cycling routes throughout the region.

In the release, town officials recommended taking a ride downtown along Bridge Street or heading out on the popular Ottawa Valley Recreation Trail (OVRT) for a more scenic and nature-oriented excursion.

The Carleton Place Tourism Office and Information Centre is located at 170 Bridge St, providing visitors with information, maps and guidance on local attractions throughout the tourism season.
