Stittsville man charged following sexual assault at Beckwith Township business

A Stittsville man has been charged with sexual assault following an investigation into an alleged incident at a Beckwith Township business earlier this year, according to a release from the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The OPP say officers began investigating on July 11, with assistance from the Lanark County Crime Unit, after receiving allegations that a sexual assault occurred in April while the victim was at a business in Beckwith Township.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, Jeremy Finn, 53, of Stittsville, was arrested and charged with sexual assault. Finn was reportedly released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

In their release, the OPP also reminded victims of intimate partner violence and sexual assault that they are not alone and that support is always available.
