Carleton Place provides construction update as multiple projects near completion

As summer winds to a close, construction work is continuing at several locations across Carleton Place over the coming week.
According to a construction update provided on Thursday, September 10, 2026, asphalt paving inside the salt dome has been completed at the Public Works Yard at 97 Franklin St., with door installations next on the agenda. The concrete slab for the new five-bay garage is currently being poured, while structural steel is expected to arrive on Sept. 24.
Landscaping work is expected to be completed over the next week on the following projects:
- Lake Avenue West between O’Donovan Drive and the boat launch
- Frank Street between Emily Street and the Mississippi River
- Sarah Street between Lake Avenue and Woodward Street, as well as between Arthur Street and Morris Street
- College Street between Victoria Street and Bridge Street
Meanwhile, driveway reinstatement work will continue on Joseph Street between Townline Road and High Street.
“For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones,” advised town officials. “If you cannot avoid these areas, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage.”
Residents with questions or concerns about any of these projects can contact Public Works at 613-257-2253.
