Mississippi Mills Fire Department warns residents about donation scam

In a notice issued in the afternoon of Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Mississippi Mills Fire Department is warning residents about recent reports of individuals calling residents and falsely claiming to represent the fire department while soliciting donations.

The department wants to reiterate to the public that it does not conduct fundraising campaigns or solicit donations by telephone.

Residents who receive a call from someone claiming to be associated with the fire department and requesting financial contributions are advised not to provide any personal or financial information.
