Christmas movie filming brings early holiday magic to Mississippi Mills, Carleton Place

Film crews are bringing a little early Christmas magic to the Ottawa Valley this week as scenes for the upcoming holiday movie, titled Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, are being shot in Mississippi Mills and Carleton Place.
According to a notice provided this morning by the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, Up Light Entertainment is filming in Almonte on Monday, September 21, 2026 with crews set up along Mill Street near Mill Street Books, Royal LePage Team Brokerage, Ottawa Valley Coffee and The Sterling.
Filming at Mill Street Books and Royal LePage Team Brokerage was scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon, followed by filming at Ottawa Valley Coffee from noon to 6 p.m. and The Sterling from noon until midnight.
Production crews were also been spotted setting up Christmas scenes in nearby Carleton Place, where filming took place last week.
According to a social media post from Linda Seccaspina, scenes were filmed outside the Grand Hotel before the production moved to Market Square the following day, where the square was transformed into a Christmas market and Christmas tree tent.
Although the production company has not publicly identified the movie’s leading stars, the title and storyline match a film announced by Great American Family in 2024 that was to star Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison.
At the time, Great American Family described Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells as the story of Gracie, a wedding planner tasked with pulling off a Christmas Eve wedding on a tight deadline. The film was originally scheduled for release during the network’s 2024 holiday lineup.
However, the network later announced that the movie was delayed and would not go into production that year.
