Installation of new 5-bay garage to begin next week at the Carleton Place Public Works Yard

Construction at the Carleton Place Public Works Yard at 97 Franklin Street is set to ramp up next week as structural steel arrives for the new five-bay garage.

According to a construction update provided by the Town of Carleton Place on Thursday, September, 2026, erection of the new building is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 28, with work expected to continue over the following several weeks. Town officials said crews will be working Monday through Saturday to help expedite the construction process ahead of the winter season.

Town officials say work is also continuing on the new salt dome. The exhaust fan has been installed, while installation of the man doors is scheduled for next week and garage doors are expected to be installed beginning Oct. 13.
