Road closures and traffic delays week ending Oct. 11

Motorists across Lanark County can expect another week of road construction and traffic delays, particularly around Carleton Place, Franktown and Pakenham.
On Highway 15, nightly construction is scheduled between Perth Road/3rd Line Road in Franktown and Highway 7 in Carleton Place from Sunday night through Thursday morning. Drivers may encounter alternating lane closures, with delays of up to 10 minutes possible.
Work also continues on Highway 7 through Carleton Place. Beginning Monday night, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions between Mississippi Road/Lake Park Road and McNeely Avenue/County Road 29. The work is scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday morning.
In Drummond/North Elmsley, Richardson Side Road will be fully closed beginning Monday, Oct. 5, through Friday, Oct. 16 for intersection improvements at Drummond Concession 2/County Road 10. A signed detour will use Drummond Concession 1 and Ebert Road.
In Pakenham, the Five Span Bridge remains closed to vehicle traffic as rehabilitation work continues. Lanark County is currently targeting Oct. 30 for reopening, although that date could move forward if the remaining work is completed sooner.
Several construction projects also remain active in Smiths Falls. Work continues on the town’s trunk watermain and sewer project, including reconstruction on Lorne Street and work on Rideau Avenue South. Rehabilitation work on the Canal Bridges along Beckwith Street is also continuing, with lane reductions and delays possible.
In Mississippi Mills, construction continues on the Weaver’s Way Phase 1B project. Mainline servicing is scheduled to begin during the week of Oct. 5, with construction access from Appleton Side Road and traffic control in place.
