Construction progresses on new five-bay garage at Carleton Place Public Works Yard

Construction work continues to get underway in Carleton Place at the Public Works Yard, located at 97 Franklin Street.

As previously reported, structural steel arrived on site and the building’s erection began on Monday, September 28, 2026, with construction crews making steady progress every week since.
 
In an update provided on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, town officials shared that siding on the new 5-bay garage continues to be installed and insulation is now being placed. Roofing will follow as the building’s erection continues over the next several weeks, with work occurring Monday through Saturday to expedite the process before the colder winter months.
 
The town added that the yard’s salt dome is now “substantially complete” and office renovations in the existing municipal garage are also underway.
