Work is underway on a major infrastructure project in Carleton Place that will extend Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard to Highway 15 and add a new service road.

The project, awarded to Cavanagh Construction, includes building the new roadway, known as McEachen Drive, to support future growth in the Uniform subdivision and lands south of Highway 7. It will also connect with planned Ministry of Transportation improvements to Highways 15 and 7, expected in 2027.

Key components include a turning circle, storm sewers, a watermain, realignment of the Beckwith drain, streetlighting, sidewalks, asphalt pathways and landscaping.

Blasting began this week and is expected to continue for about six weeks before crews begin installing underground water and sewer lines, followed by utilities and road construction.

Work will continue through the rest of 2025, with final completion expected in spring 2026.

Residents with questions can contact the town’s Development Services Office at 613-257-6203.
