Five construction projects happening in Carleton Place over the next week

Carleton Place crews are making progress on several infrastructure projects, with work continuing at multiple sites in town. The following construction projects are slated for the coming week.
Project 26 – Sanitary Sewer Upsizing (McNeely Avenue)
Thomas Cavanagh Construction is continuing to remove and replace sanitary sewer infrastructure from the Wendy’s drive aisle north toward the Walmart parking lot, which marks the project’s limit. Work is now taking place during the day, as crews are no longer in the drive aisle and traffic flow is not being affected.
Starting the week of Aug. 10, grading crews and concrete subcontractors will begin curb reinstatements in the Canadian Tire and Independent Grocer drive aisle. This work will be done at night to reduce impacts on pedestrians and drivers.
Grant Street
Crews are installing granular materials in preparation for base course asphalt.
Findlay Pump Station
Work continues inside the existing wet well to prepare for a new fibre reinforced polymer insert. Crews will also begin building the foundation for the new structure.
Princess Street Pumping Station
A new manhole is being installed to allow for bypass pumping. Traffic at Princess and Sussex streets will be reduced to one lane in each direction, with flaggers on site.
Industrial Avenue Pumping Station
Crews are installing the base for the new wet well and placing silt fencing along Industrial Avenue ahead of a new force main. Traffic control measures will be in place when necessary.
The town is asking drivers to avoid construction zones where possible, and to slow down and follow directions from flag crews or posted signage if travel through the sites is unavoidable.
